The location of these institutions are within 2 - 4 km from each other in Bajitpur Thana. The ultimate thinking of Islam Group to turn Bhagalpur-Bajitpur into center of modern education and culture, comprising of Schools, Colleges, fully residential (Cadet - Type) College and medical University. Away from the unrest and prevailing sociopolitical scenario of the country, these institutions are intended to provide an ideal environment for education in the country. The education city which would grow-up at Bhagalpur-Bajitpur will ultimately comprise of Schools, Colleges, Studies in medical sciences and an University with bias towards applied sciences and natural and human resource development and management. A large portion of land in Bhagalpur remains flooded for a large part of the year. In this portion, experiments in hydroponics, agriculture, pisciculture, crocodile farming and the likes can be undertaken as part of faculty activity as well as on commercial basis. The advisory services are to come from universally reputed institutions, the Harvard University and the well-known autonomous research organization, the Winrock International based in the United States of America. Several prominent
personalities of the institutions have expressed their willingness to arrange assistance for organizing Natural Resource Development and management faculty in the proposed University. Already, Islam Group is in contact with a number of eminent Harvard University Professors. They have most graciously agreed to provide necessary technical assistance and make efforts to arrange all other assistance from overseas institutions. The proposed University with its emphasis on science and natural resources and human resources development in the country will introduce a new dimension in our higher
education philosophy and to some extent relieve the pressure on the Dhaka and other national Universities. The courses of studies will be so designed as to integrate more concepts in science and technology and give due importance to applied sciences, development of natural and human resources and their management. Establishment of a University at Bajitpur is the most ambitious program of Islam Group targeted for implementation in the near future. Already there have been member of exchanges in this regard including important and significant visitations to and from abroad. It is expected that the concept of Islam Group will grow into a model which will eventually catch the imagination of the people and its influence spread far and wide. This will in turn usher in a new and promising era for Bangladesh.
