POULTRY FARM consisting of a modern hatchery of produce Broiler and Layer parent (breeding) 60,000 birds and supply of 100,000 per week day old chicks (DOC) for the fast growing poultry industry as well as commercial facilities for supply of eggs and poultry meat to Dhaka City and offered to consumers through conveniently located Sales Canters. The Poultry Complex of ABFL is already one of the biggest and largest in the country.
In the development of poultry as a social campaign (income generating) along with a proper scientific and professional back-up, ABFL took up in 1994 an elaborate contract growing program involving both male and female rural unemployed. The package deal between ABFL and the Farmer are very simple indeed. ABFL will extend and provide to the farmers all the logistics including the day old birds along with an assured buyback guarantee of the produces at the current market price. In exchange, the farmer will extend free accommodation and nursing of the birds. The logistics to be provided by ABFL includes DOC, all vaccines, medicines, feed along with expert supervision on regular basis.
The
endeavor have found popular acceptance far and wide and proved to be a
resounding success. ABFL is working on options how to cope with the tough
challenges presented by overwhelming responses of the people. POULTRY
FEED MILL was first established primarily to provide balanced feed for
the ABFL own poultry. It was later expanded to meet the demand of poultry
feed for the larger section of the growing market. It is now producing
1300 tons of palette and mash feed per month and its production capacity
will be increased to 5000 tons per month by the year 1999-2000.
