AFTAB AGRICULTURE involves some highly prospective areas in Bajitpur-Kuliarchar where low lands and high flood-free lands can be turned into granaries through round the year continuous cropping. ABFL has laid stress on non -traditional high values agriculture practices, like production of maize, soyabean, potato seeds, pulses and others price fetching selective products. ABFL provides quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides as well as guaranteed market for the products. Presently, under agricultural extension program, more than 500 acres of land have been brought under ABFL which are directly benefiting poor cultivator in quality products of maize, soybean and potato seeds etc.

In 1998 Aftab Bahumukhi Farm Limited produced 150 M.T. high quality potato seed and distributed the same in Munshigonj & Kishoregonj district. The field result of the seed is very satisfactory and created high demand in the market.

Aftab Bahumukhi Farm Limited already expanded its potato seed program through contract growers in Pakundia upazila and by the year 2001 expecting to produce 600 M.T with F1 Hybrid, Maize, Rice and Vegetables seeds. It will also expand its seed program through contract growers in northern region. By the year 2001 more than 500 acres of land will be brought under seed production program which will be directly benefiting disadvantaged farmers in production of quality seed.

All programs of ABFL aims at alleviation of poverty and unemployment for the land-less and rural poor of Bajitpur-Kuliarchar areas through various income generating activities. These initiatives are in the form of self-help and participatory practices and through appropriate technology transfer.
